Much as with humans, Pokémon tend to have wildly different personalities and can often times exhibit completely different behaviors in comparison to other members of the same species. Unlike with humans, however, the Nature of a Pokémon can determine not only its overall likes and dislikes but even the overall development of its stats and its capacity to use moves in battle when a trainer is not allowed to dictate their movements. The science and practice of organizing and classifying Pokémon into a coherent ordering that does not directly contradict the already well-established taxonomy of all other life forms is a daunting task that has troubled Pokémon biologists for some time due to several main factors: the general differences between Pokémon and other life forms at the cellular level; contrary to that, the similarities in body structure of many Pokémon and similar animals; the dilemma of whether to count Pokémon as more closely related by Elemental type or by body structure; and the lack of any sort of clear pattern of common decent among
